MOTOGP SPRINT Martin returned to winning form with a dramatic victory in the Tissot Sprint at Circuit of the Americas, delivering a late-race charge to defeat Francesco Bag- naia (Ducati Lenovo Team). Bagnaia initially controlled the race after a strong start, lead - ing a tightly packed group that included Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), Joan Mir (Honda HRC Castrol), Martin and Bezzecchi. Early chaos struck when Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) crashed while attempting to pass Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina En - duro VR46 Racing Team), taking both riders out. As the race unfolded, Martin began carving through the field, with Bezzecchi briefly moving into second before crashing out at turn 12 with three laps re - VOLUME 63 ISSUE 13 MARCH 31, 2026 P89 21 ALONSO LOPEZ 17TH MOTO2 "The race didn't go as we wanted: I think it's just a matter of time to fully understand this bike," Alonso said. "I'm still lacking a bit of experience, and we still need to make a few small changes. (Right) Enea Bastianini (orange) and Marquez (red) had an entertaining late-race scrap on Sunday.
