Nicholson Notches Another 6-Hours Win A typical of this time of year, a flurry of heat and wind in the week leading up to race day left Glen Helen Raceway looking desolate and dry for the annual 3Bros 6-Hours of Glen Helen on March 7. Past champions Tyler Nicholson and Thomas Dunn piloted a KTM 450 XC-F to the overall victory with 25 laps, best - ing the 117 teams entered. Racers were treated to a faster course that included high- speed ridge roads, sand washes, the off-road truck track, and the iconic motocross tracks around the Glen Helen facility, although high winds on race day left much of the course dry and dusty despite the track crew's massive effort to put water down. At the drop of the flag, the Open Pro and Expert riders rushed into the Talladega first turn, with Trevor Hunter leading the charge on his DirtBikeTest. com Yamaha YZ450FX. Through the first few corners, the riders jockeyed for position with Shane O'Dor and his CRF450X leading the pack onto the ridgeline. Just a few turns into the dusty ridgeline section, Hunter made the pass back for the lead and used the dust to his advantage in building a small gap early on O'Dor, eventual winner Nichol - son, and the rest of the teams in tow. By the end of the lap, the top three were spread out in 10-second intervals, with Nick Stover on a GasGas 300 wheel- to-wheel behind Nicholson in fourth. With two laps completed, Hunter pulled into the pits, put - ting O'Dor at the front of the pack. Nicholson bumped up to second on track, 20 seconds be- hind, with Stover still on his rear wheel in third. With so many rac- ers and a 14-15-minute lap time for the fastest racers, lappers were abundant and came as WIND IN THE P64 Tyler Nicholson (pictured), along with teammate Thomas Dunn, won the 6-Hours of Glen Helen.
