clash that left one of them in the dirt (Saathoff this time) was nothing new. However, Cana- dian rookie Jordan Beaulac and Eisenhard Racing's Logan Eisen- hard disappeared at the front. But with just under two min- utes left on the clock, Saathoff crashed again, this time causing the red flags to fly. After looking set to finish 1-2 minutes earlier, Beaulac and Eisenhard stalled moments after the restart, opening the door for Chase Saathoff (1st Impressions Husqvarna) and Trevor Brunner (KMA Racing Yamaha) in second and third, respectively. There was a hint of some- thing new just behind, however, as Saathoff's rookie teammate, Jack Brucks, finished fourth in his debut. Friday's round two, by con- trast, was an unrecognizable re- mix, delivering the unexpected. Well, in a global sense, at least. A Drane and Saathoff time, he finally succeeded in pulling off a last-lap strike to snatch away second. Just behind, four-time Day- tona ST winner Robinson also made a final-lap lunge to drop Lowe to fifth. When the points from the three mains were all tallied up, Kopp was again named the winner, with Daniels second. Fisher earned the final spot on the overall podium, while Lowe did just enough to stay ahead of Robinson for fourth. Championship contender Bauman could only manage sixth, which, combined with his Thursday seventh, puts him in something of an early hole he'll need to dig his way out of. After his second triumph, Kopp made it known that he had heard what Daniels said the night be - fore. "I knew what I had to do, and I know what I'm capable of. I work my butt off for this stuff, and this is what I want to do for my life. I heard last night that someone on the podium said they wouldn't be super happy with [getting their first win under red-flag condi - tions]. But I think you can count this one, no asterisks." AFT SINGLES Thursday's Kicker AFT Singles opener played the hits, deliver- ing the expected. While action-packed in its own, red-flagged and reshuffled way, in the end Estenson Racing Yamaha's reigning champion, Tom Drane, stood atop the box to up his win streak to five. That familiar story extended down the podium, with fellow title hopefuls Trent Lowe was a front-runner both days, but a mechanical in one of the Triple Challenge races put a damper on things.
