VOLUME 63 ISSUE 10 MARCH 10, 2026 P101
came home in fourth.
Wiles said, "We've got a pretty
low-profile team, and it's just
awesome that we could get it
up here on the box again for the
second year in a row at Daytona.
It was a massive day for us. It
looked like it was our first time
racing when we started out the
day, qualifying down in 17th. So
we just kept chipping away. I
never gave up. The boys never
gave up. And I'm just really
stoked with the effort of every
-
body else, really, because I don't
even
go to the gym anymore. I
don't ride a pedal bike anymore.
That might be the key for Day-
tona; just come in here a little bit
slouch-like, off-the-couch-like,
and
get it done."
Rackley Racing's Davis Fisher
rounded out the top five and
later admitted to having been
taken off the hook by the red
for the checkered flag, and, hon
-
estly, I'm a little bummed about
that. I
don't think people would
understand, to be bummed, but
I'm a racer; I want to get those
checkered flags. We've got a tall
task tomorrow to come back and
back it up. But I've put in the work
for a reason, and with this team
behind me, we're going to give it
our best shot to come do it."
Runner-up Daniels commiser
-
ated, echoing Kopp's comments
by
adding, "That's definitely not
the way you want to win your
first National, under a red flag.
But congrats to Kody and his
crew; that was a helluva ride."
While seemingly intended in
empathy, Kopp received it as fuel.
Behind, J&M Logging's Henry
Wiles backed up his '25 feat,
jumping off the couch and onto
a Kawasaki-powered podium,
while fellow part-timer Halbert
than sixth at the event. And, despite
encountering numerous obstacles,
he left the same way. Reflecting on
Thursday's sixth, he said, "A roller
coaster. I tossed it away in Q1. I felt
good in Q2, but apparently I was
slow and ended up on the back row
for the heat race. I was marching
forward when an electrical gremlin
grabbed us, and I had to go to the
[LCQ]. I haven't been in one of them
in a long time. I was running the
numbers and realized only the top
four made it through, and I was third
row, 12th pick. I'm like, 'Golly, we got
some work to do.' And then in the
main event, I was way in the back
again. I had to dodge Briar laying on
the ground. That was a little nerve-
wracking. He was sliding on the
straightaway, and there was nowhere
to go. We just slowly worked our way
forward."
75 TARREN SANTERO
15TH/4TH SINGLES
Roof Systems/Vinson Honda's Tarren
Santero has been angling for that
maiden win ever since he first landed
on the podium in 2024. Friday night
looked like it might be the night until
it wasn't. He said, "It was a lot bet-
ter than the first day. I fast qualified
and had a good heat race. I got a
pretty good start in the main, but I hit
the groove, and it was kind of icy. I
started falling back a bit, then lucked
out on the restart and was leading for
a few laps. It was just kind of the luck
of the draw. I got shuffled back right
at the end, but all in all, it's a pretty
good weekend for us."
MYOWNRACE
Davis Fisher (67) was
flying on his KTM,
running among the
leaders both days.
