"I turned a pretty bad day
into a good day," Bennick said.
"I thought if I could be top five,
that'd be good for me. I strug-
gled all day, but I'm pumped to
come away
with a podium. I dug
deep in that race."
Fourth went to Monster En-
ergy Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Seth
Hammaker,
who won his heat
race but was one of the riders
caught up in a first-corner crash,
which also snared fifth-placed
finisher Cole Davies. The Star
Racing Yamaha rider Davies, a
title favorite, got off to a poor
start, dropping far back in the
top 20 after the first-corner
incident, but impressed with his
courageous recovery to fifth.
"Didn't do myself any favors
by going down in the first turn,"
Davies said. "We fought from
last to fifth, banked what we
could but want more. I'll be back
fighting next weekend in Day
-
tona."
Drew
Adams finished sixth
ahead of Coty Schock, Devin
Simonson, Cullin Park and Kyle
Peters.
