Brown secured the first win of his career and made his return after breaking his neck at the season opener a year earlier. His speed was clear from the start, qualifying fastest and starting at the front in the main event. He took the lead after Jo Shimoda rolled the double before the finish line due to medical lights being displayed. Brown jumped both obstacles which helped him close the large gap to Shimoda. Brown looked confi - dent leading, despite constant pressure from Shimoda. He led the final 15 laps, earning his first-ever 250SX main-event win. Brown now heads to Daytona with the red plate. "I don't even know where to start," Brown said. "There were so many nights when I didn't think this would be possible. Missing a year, especially with the injury I had, it's pretty degrading. It's a scary thing to come back from, and there were a lot of doubts. I'm just thankful I never stopped fighting." Shimoda held onto second place.
