Tomac patiently closed the gap on the leaders and increased his aggression near the final six minutes of the race, passing both Roczen and Cooper Webb, which forced Cooper Webb off the track. The number three then moved into second behind Lawrence and held the position to the finish for his fifth podium of the season. His second-place finish minimizes the damage, as he's only four points behind the championship leader in the standings. "The first lap absolutely saved my race," Tomac said.
