an 11th-place start, working his
way quickly up to fourth, where
he spent most of the race.
Tomac patiently closed the gap
on the leaders and increased
his aggression near the final six
minutes of the race, passing
both Roczen and Cooper Webb,
which forced Cooper Webb off
the track. The number three
then moved into second behind
Lawrence and held the position
to the finish for his fifth podium
of the season. His second-place
finish minimizes the damage,
as he's only four points behind
the championship leader in the
standings.
"The first lap absolutely saved
my race," Tomac said. "I was
happy to make some moves
there and just happened to
find openings that allowed me
to pass two or three guys at a
time. Somehow by lap two or
three I could see the front of the
race and knew I was okay. What
a difficult track tonight. I fought

Christian Craig earned his best result
of the season so far with a ninth, de-
spite racing with fractured fingers. "P9
in Dallas, a step in the right direction,"
he said. "The track was challenging
and fun! The longer whoop section al-
ways provides more exciting racing!"

Justin Cooper finished fifth in the
450SX main event after landing on the
podium one week ago. "[I'm] frustrated
with my start," he said. "Felt like I had
the pace to run towards the front. P5
in the main and hungry for more."
