led early on but lost the top spot
when Roczen slipped by on the
inside of the sand section. Law-
rence picked up on this quicker
line
but simply couldn't match
the pace of Roczen up front.
While his result is the same as
it has been, Lawrence's consis
-
tency paid off as he took control
of
the championship lead. He
now leads by five over Roczen
mentum a little bit. I was able to
pass Hunter, and I knew it was
going to be a long main event
because trying to put a gap was
really hard, and the track was
tricky. It was just so fast, and
everything was built super tall."
It's only a matter of time
before Lawrence gets a win, but
he'll take another runner-up. The
Honda HRC Progressive rider
for all but one lap during the
main, and he clearly established
himself as the man to beat.
The win puts Roczen back into
second in points, five back from
Lawrence.
"This feels unreal," Roczen
said. "I got a good start, and
then [Vince] Friese cut me off
going into the first turn, which I
expected, and slowed my mo
-
either way, we are moving forward,
and that's a positive for us."

MARCHBANKS 13TH
450SX
Garrett Marchbanks finished 13th for
his best finish so far this year. "In the
main event, I didn't get the best start
and had some riders flinch on the
gate near me that didn't help," March-
banks said. "There was a big first-turn
crash that I was able to avoid, and
I made some good passes midway
through the race. I got up to 11th and
started to lose my flow in the last five
minutes. I'm working on getting up
to race-pace shape with the longer
format in the premier class, but I'm
happy with 13th."
