Martin to Make Buriram Test
J
orge Martin will make his long-
awaited on-track return at the
Thailand test on February 21-22
after receiving the all-clear from
the doctors.
The 2024 MotoGP champ
was a spectator in Sepang as he
recovered from second surger-
ies on a left wrist he injured last
February and the right collarbone
he fractured in September.
At Sepang, he explained, "They
took some bone from another part
of the body to make the [collarbone]
heal. Now, the plate is much bigger.
I have more screws, so there's no
way it can move. And also, the
recovery process was much better.
Last time I had surgery, after two
days, I was moving. This time I was
four weeks without moving, so I'm
sure that it's now healed."
Aprilia released a statement on
Monday that read, "Today Jorge
MartÃn underwent a medical
check to the left hand and right
collarbone at the Hospital Ruber
Internacional (in Madrid, Spain).
The medical check was positive.
Therefore, he will travel to Buriram,
Thailand, next week to take part in
the Buriram test."
Martin will still undergo evalu-
ation by the FIM Grand Prix World
Championship Medical Team to
receive the all-clear to take part in
the test.
On the difficulty of recovering
from yet another physical setback,
the Aprilia star said, "There's no
other option than to continue
fighting and continue doing what
I can to get back to winning. So, I
will do whatever I can until I have
no more options. For me, it's easy
just have surgery and continue
working for my process."
