WIND IN THE P40 Triumph Refreshes Trident 660, Tiger Sport 660 for 2026 T riumph has rolled out a comprehensive update to its middleweight lineup for 2026, bringing notable mechanical and cosmetic revisions to the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660 sport tourer. Central to the update is a reworked version of the 660cc inline-triple engine, now shared with the Daytona 660, deliver - ing a healthy bump in output for both models. The revised powerplant pro - duces a claimed 94 horsepower at 11,250 rpm and 50.2 lb-ft of torque at 8250 rpm, a clear step up over the previous configura - tion. Triumph says the majority of that torque—around 80 percent— is available from as low as 3000 rpm through to near the new 12,650-rpm redline, which has been increased by 20 percent. Achieving the gains involved significant internal changes, including a switch to three individual 44mm throttle bodies, a redesigned cylinder head with larger exhaust valves, higher-lift cams, and a new front-mounted airbox aimed at improving airflow and enhancing intake sound. Cooling has also been improved via a larger radiator and revised fan placement. These updates required minor revisions to the steel frame to package the new engine hard - ware, though geometry remains unchanged. Further refinements include a new three-into-one exhaust system and revisions to the six- speed gearbox, featuring updated shafts, altered ratios, and a reca - librated quickshifter for smoother clutchless shifts. The added hardware nudges wet weight up slightly, with the Trident now listed at 429 pounds and the Tiger Sport at 465 pounds. Chassis and comfort updates round out the changes. The Trident gains a more adjustable rear shock, wider handlebars and subtle styling tweaks, while the Tiger Sport receives longer-travel suspension, a larger 4.9-gallon gas tank, revised bodywork for improved weather protection, and expanded touring accessory options. Both models retain their TFT/LCD displays, full LED light - ing and IMU-based rider aids. The Trident 660 will come in Cosmic Yellow and Stone Grey, while the Tiger Sport 660 will be available in Interstellar Blue/Min - eral Grey and Silver Ice/Intense Orange. The Trident 660 is available from $9145, and the Tiger Sport 660 from $10,445. Both models will be in Triumph dealers begin - ning March 2026.
