Bayliss Leads World Superbike Test The first of two midseason PirelliWorld Superbike tests rook place at Brno in the Czech Republic, June l2-14, with lap records gertint broken before the third day of the rest even got started. It was no surprise that it was Ducati Xerox's Troy Bayliss out front again, the Australian eventually riding his Ducati to a best- ever Superbike lap of 2:00.0 o. the larest qualifyinS tires, and 2:00.8s on race-spec Pirelli rubber. For comparison, during the 2005 World Superbike race week- end, the qualifyint lap record was 2:02.694 (set by current Brno test absentee Troy Corser, on a Suzuki) and the best race time was 7:03.747 (from the Yamaha of No.iyuki Hata). Hata and Corser would go on to take one race win apiece at Brno last year. Bayliss acknowledted that, despite an early crash, he could draw little but positives from his latest outint on the 999F06 twin. "lt's been a tood three days," he said.
