Juha
Salminen
has finally been
beaten in the SuzukiGrand
National Cross Country
Series. And the
man who
stopped him was the man
who last
eated Salminen before
his
prolific win streak began: Am Pro
Yamaha's Barry
Hawk.
''l''lan
it feels
good!"
said Smithfield,
Pennsylvania's
Hawk after taking the
sev-
enth
round of the
season, the Wiseco,lohn
Penton GNCC
in southeastern Ohio.
''lt's
a big sigh of
relief for me and
everyone on my team.''
As expected, it took a big effort
and an amazing
race for Salminen's streak to
come to an end.
The
fast
and
smooth lo-time
World Enduro Champion,
and
defending GNCC Champion,
was on his
game
for the seventh round of
the
series, the stiff competition,
and some deep Ohio
mud bogs,
allowed Hawk to
slip
past
and
win
the
race.
