Back

eighth
place,
Jonathan
Barragan was

find his way inside the top five.
Everts couldn't seem to
get
away from
Striibos, while Melofte hung with the

pulled
away from
Leok to win
easily, with
de Dycker, Striibos and
Ramon roundinS out
the top five.

Leok,

Groot Kawasaki
team, was
second overall in the HX I divi-
sion. behind Everts, and
was
glad
he could
continue
his
good
form, despite
having
had little
time on the bike due to a shoul-
der injury
"ln
the flrst race I
crashed at the start,"
Leok
said.
"l
was happy with my speed- I
have not
practiced
for
two weeks
because of my shoulder.
So
live laps
from
the
end I
was
really tired, but I am really
happy with second
place
here. I
will
leave
a week
earlier
for
lapan
and do
some
testing in
Japan
the week
before the GP"
ln third
place
in the MXI class was
Suzuki factory rider Striibos. His weekend
was a mixed
one, although for about
the
fifth time this
season he was able to battle
with
EYerts.
"The
track was fast
today, but I had a
good
feelin8
on the bike,"
Strijbos said,
"ln
the llrst
heat, I could
push
a lot and
there was maybe two occasions
when I
could
pass
Everts,
but he was tough
to
overtake. I
think
I
exerted myself too
much in the first 15 minutes,
because I
had to back
off a little toward the
end.

the second moto
I had to
pick
another
gate
because Leok took mine- lt
was full
of mud and I did not
get
a
good
iump.
I
was far
back along the straight, but could
turn tight and gained
a lot of
positions
by
heading up the inside.
After Ken
passed
me, I started to find befter lines
and
rh/thm. lt was
iust
a
shame that I could
not
catch him in the last
couple of laps.
However,
lam really
pleased
with
the
podium,
and I feel like
I am
getting
befter
and more confident
