BY MTHAEL PrERsoN New Jeraey Moto(rors A'(,o Motorrgjs Park ATCO, NJ, 'TAR. 18 This ),ear, Nicholas Hyers adEnced to the l25cc Novice and I 250cc Four-stroke classes. with two new Suzukis, wVo new ciasses to compete in, and all new riders to battle with on the tr.ck, one mitbt think it would take Myers a little while to run up front. Unfonunately for the competition, it didn't take f4yers lonS at all. A consistent front-runner in the 85cc classes in the past, Myers looked stront ritk out of the tate in his first race, takint the holeshot in dle 250c( Four-Stroke chss and ridiry to the win. Wth 16 orher riders lined up with him at th€ start of the l25cc Novice class, the odds were agarnst him to repeat that result. Sornebody forSot to tell that to Myers- He launched out of d|e tate to take d|e holeshot and n€ver iooked back, racinS fast and smoothly to his second win of the day- Myers repeated his race resutts in the second motos to finish his day with four wins in four races- As the 6 p.m- start tirn€ for the fim moto approached, the already-cool temperatures quickly dropped as the sun went down. The stront winds remained \,,ith riders and spectators, who were doinS eyerything they could to stq/ warm. But while the temperaores were droppint, the racint was jurt heatir8 up. ln the 85cc (lo-l l) class, Cody Trout Srabbed the holeshot and battled with lello\rv Suzuki rider f4atthew Gahrmann and Yamaha-mounted Matthew Tackach. Trout raced to the victory in both rnotos, with Gahrrnann and Tkkach finishing in second and third in both motos, respectively. Trout went on to duplicate his result in the Junior Supermini class, while Gahrmann and Tackach continued their on-track battle in the 65cc (lGl l) clasq Gahrmann pre..ailed by finishing l-l on his Suzukito take the overallwin, while Tackach finished 2-2 on his KTM to ta&e se.ond overall. One of the best races of the day came in the first race of the Supermini class. Kawasaki rider Robert Harshall got an excellent start and had a several-bikelenSth lead headinS into the first turn. Mar3hall held on to the lead for the first few laps, while Suzuki riders Kevin Hudson and Andrew Homick made their way toward the front. Hudson eventually made the pass on Marshall and went on to earn the win. while Homick had to settle for third, behind Marshall. The second race of the Supermini class saw Hudson repeat his victory to win the overall, while Homick and Marshall swapped finishint positions to finish second and third overall, resPectively. ln other r:cint action, Suzuki rider Talon Distefano finished l-l for the overall win in SScc ( 12- 13) action, Joseph Petrarca rode his Honda to victoD/ in both motos for the overall win in the Over 30 Novice class, and KTM riderJustin Cooper finished l- l to earn the overall in the s(kc (7-8) Stock class.
