"We
were
going pretq/
decent times
and those
gtlys pulled
out
a
little
bit, but I
was kind of hoping
their tires would
drop
off and work
out for us. but we had
a red
fla8,"
Yates said.
Yates changed
to a different
tire for the
restart
and made a few
adiustments
to
the
bike.
"l
was
struggling getting
through rhe
little chicane
thing
on the front straight,
strugglanS
pretty
bad there,
and in a cou-
ple
of other sections, and
the other little
chicane
things," he said.
"lt
was
iust
really
hard
on me, and l'm
just
happy to bring it
home third."
Team I44 EMGO
Suzuki's
Geoff May
passed
Graves Motorsporrs Yamaha's
Eric
Bostrom
on
the lifth lap of the restart.
May wasn't
able to shake
Bostrom, but he
was
not
passed,
en route
to his founh-
place
flnish.
"Yeah,
l
was hoping," May
said.
"lt
looked
like Aaron
fiates]
might have been
fading a little
bit at the
end and him and
HackinS were
going
at it, so I'm
thinkin''if
these guys
keep battling, I might
catch
'em.'
I
just
kept
my head down and kept
trying."
Bostrom was
struggling with grip,
but
he
said it's not a tire issue.
"We've
got
to come up with some
kind
of
game plan,''
Bostrom
said.
''l'm
pretty
fortunate,
I've
got
good
a
good
bunch of
guys -
the
suspension
gq/s
and
Jun [Sugiyama],
they'll come
up with
something and
get
us
some more
grip."

The Pirelli
