"We were going pretq/ decent times and those gtlys pulled out a little bit, but I was kind of hoping their tires would drop off and work out for us. but we had a red fla8," Yates said. Yates changed to a different tire for the restart and made a few adiustments to the bike. "l was struggling getting through rhe little chicane thing on the front straight, strugglanS pretty bad there, and in a cou- ple of other sections, and the other little chicane things," he said. "lt was iust really hard on me, and l'm just happy to bring it home third." Team I44 EMGO Suzuki's Geoff May passed Graves Motorsporrs Yamaha's Eric Bostrom on the lifth lap of the restart. May wasn't able to shake Bostrom, but he was not passed, en route to his founh- place flnish. "Yeah, l was hoping," May said. "lt looked like Aaron fiates] might have been fading a little bit at the end and him and HackinS were going at it, so I'm thinkin''if these guys keep battling, I might catch 'em.' I just kept my head down and kept trying." Bostrom was struggling with grip, but he said it's not a tire issue. "We've got to come up with some kind of game plan,'' Bostrom said. ''l'm pretty fortunate, I've got good a good bunch of guys - the suspension gq/s and Jun [Sugiyama], they'll come up with something and get us some more grip." lordan l'4otorsports Suzukis linished in the next two spots, with Steve Rapp beat- ing teammate ]ason Pridmore. Pridmore had his hands full with Erion Honda's Josh Hayes, beating him to the line by 0.012 of a second. Jake Holden, the third member of the lordan team was ninth, one spot better than I(VVS lYotorsports' flatt Lynn. The red flag had allowed him to use his numtrer-one tire choice and th€ one that he ran in the restan made the difference. "We 8ot lucky with the red llag to tive me a chance to run my preferred tire trom Pirelli, which wouldn'r quite 80 the race distance so it would have been too big of a garnble to run it in the betinning. We put it on ther€ when we knew it was goin8 to be only l0 laps and we knew we'd have no problems. The Pirelli tire{ were hooked up, so I couldn't believe the lap rimes. I kept seeing my times, rhinking, Hey, what's going on, this is the fastest I've tone all weekend.' And Barry Mcl,lann. my mechanic, he built me a steamin' fast 1000 so made it real easy for me to get by Eric on th€ front straightaway and to try and catch up the tap on those tq/s. I was iusr happy to bring home a fourth." 15 Steve Rapp 6th Place Ste /e Rapp was the first of the Jordan Motorsports Suzukis in sixth. Rapp found hims€ll belween Eric Bostrom and teammate.lason Pridmore, the latter a force at the end of the race. Rapp didn't chante his rire choice during the r€d ,lag and he thought ir cost him. "Yeah, rhat's what I should have done, I dadn't thouSh. You never know but I think that's what hurt me a liale bit." he said. 43 ;ason Pridmore 7th Place Jason Pridmore didn't like having lo follow a slower rider early in the Superstock rdae. "l rnean I saw him almost crash three times ih the first five corners and I don't like that." h€ said- "So it created a bit of a gap and rhen w€ actually had a tire spin on the rim anyways so that ntined us a little bit in that regard. But it's iust nice to be closer. I'm getting there, we're getting the bikes bener and the team's working good together and we're getting
