Despite worries about the predicted rain, and despite competition from other MX events in the area, riders from five states turned out ro swell the entry list to just a dozen short of the 300 mark. Albers was llrst at the checkered flag, nming the gold over Sip€s in a pdnts ti€. ln the 250cc A .l.ss. Sipes and Albers again had some close moments, but Sipes won both motos by a comfortable margin over Albers. The final l25cc B moto was a thnller At the start, Outdoor Pow€rsport's .losh Burdett showed the way, with Kirk's Cycle-backed Cameron Stone in tow. gurdett held on to the lead durinS several intense laps, but durinS the fanal moments, Stone made a pass stick and won the cla5s with a perfect score. Burdett's 3'2 score srned the silver in a points tie over Trea l"liller's 2-3 score. FollowinS his runner-up finish in $e l25cc B (ontest, Burdett returned to win the ColleSeboy (16-24) class with a perfect score. (Burdett may have had an extra motivation to wrn: His good friend Trey Price. a cyrtic fibrocis victim, was watching the race,) The unpredictable l25cc C contest saw multiple race leaders during both motos, but Atlanta resident Gage Hartman urged his MorosporE Honda to the f.onr both times and came away with a pair of convincin8 moto wins. Hartman also won the Unlimlted ln moto two ot the 250cc C .ontest, Brian Berr), made a dmmatic pass in the final tum of the last lap to 80 by Nicholas I'lanners. A5 a result, Berry's l-2 tally won rhe day, over the 3-l score lurned in by.lacob Nash. Mannerc' 2-3 llnishes were good for the bronze. Kentucky's Dylan Carpenter looked confident as he gassed his SYDlt'oshimura- backed Suzuki to unbeatable 2- I scores in both rhe 250c. B and Four-Stroke Amateur classes.
