Ducati's Neil
Hodgson
staned slowly, but soon
tot
on pace and ran wirh the
pack
dicing for third
place.
Though
he
lost out on the
position to Miguel
Duhamel, the Brit
en,oyed beinS
back in action.
"l
felt a bit
rust),,, to
be honest,"
Hod8son said.
"l didn't
have a
good rhythm at
fi6t and
couldn'l
get
the
tires to hook
up at
firs(. I
got into a bit o{a rhythm
and then almost
ran offthe track.
4th Place
Ben Bostrom and
the Parts
Unlimited Ducati
weren t in
this one from the
very start.
Though hi5 lire
choice was
the same
as his teammate
Neil Hodgson, Bostrom
never had
8rip.
From lap one
to the very end.
"The
bike
is
8ood.
rhat's the rhing

rhe
l'd
gone
imo rhe
chicane andJake
[Zemke]
came undernea(h me.
I
had to turn the
bike really hard
in th€ dust and it wat better to
iust
stand it up and
hit the
grass.
lt
woke
me up and I
8or
in[o a
Sood
rhythm and
needed l0 rnore
I+s. The lap times were
pretty
much
as
good
as the leaders
in the second half
-
it was the
first half. I was
doing everything
I could,
bur Miguel was so fast in
iust
a couple
of
corners and
he'd
8arn
like l0 bikelen$hs. l'd spend the
rest ofthe
lap to
get
it back, then
he'd do it atain. I
iust
needed
half a second
and
I
didn't
have
it. Wh€n I got into sixth
gear, I
thouSht
I had the
fastest
bike out there-
Maybe it's an optical
illusion with the rliP-
stream,
but it sucked
down that stmaght.
I
aan't
complain with the
speed
of my bike.
tt was real
good
fun, and that's
the main thinS
about this
job.
You've
got to enioy it and I really enioyed
it. I was
quite
nervous before
the race and now I remember
what I enioy
about
bike racint.
I hadn't raced in six months and
that's what it's all
about."
bike is awesome."
Boscrom said.
"We
had
a
Srip
issue today. lt lelt
like I started on
a used tire. I did the same
time from the first lap and
the same
lap
rime
on the lsth
lap, riding
as
hard as I can. I couldn't
do any berter lhan a
39 and a hali That
was the lirnit. I thoutht we
were
going
to draft
A,aron and at least
8et
one sPot at the finish, but
I was spinning 50 bad
on the bankinS
I couldn't even catch him. I
really like riding
the bike, that's the crazy
pan. I think it's the mosr
fun road
racinS l've ever had.
The tire never got worse and it
never
got
beller
... it never
got
worse,
thank God."
