prior

AMA Superbike
Championship to dial
in the new R6 for
rheir rerurn to the Daytona 200 after a
four-yeaa hiatus. The results were record
lap times and inareaaed confidence when
the raaing starts for real.
ln his llrst-ever 200 start,
Yamaha's
Jason
Disaho has emerged as the
front-
runner.
The
New
Yorker was fastest dur-
ing rhe Dunlop lire
aest and again this
weekend,
clocking
his best-ever lap, a
l:41,55 for
the 2.95-mile
road
course.
The
lap was not only his best, but under the
pole
time
set by Miguel Duhamel for last
year's
200. That he did
it
on
race
tires,
not
qualifiers,
and
with
a
lower-spec motor
than
he'll run next
weekend,
was a huge
confidence booster.

to say it's almost
perfect,"
Disalvo said of the FX R6.

was pretty
close when
we
brought it
here. We
iust
fine-tuned a
little
bit.
We
re
learning all
the
tire compounds inside and out so we
know which ones to use
for the race."
Disafuo shared the track with a number
of 1000s
in
one
of
the CCS
races. Though
he gave away displacement, he didn't sac-

package.
