W(h his new Team Green ride, he unloaded several shiny new Kawasakis on which to compete. Only he did more than compete- ln the first moto of the l25cc lntermediate contest, Kawasaki riderlake Anstett jumped out into the lead. NiemiSot a poor start and had to slice his way to the front. lt wesn't long before he was hounding Ansteft, and the battle b€gan. The two raced around the muddy course for several laps before Niemi sneaked imo the lead coming into an S-turn, and that was all she wrotel Niemi quickly pulled out into a comfortable lead and took the checkered flag and the win. Ansteft finished se.ond. CominS in third was Wren Fuller The second moto was all Niemi's. Simplx no one was able to match the pace of the number-856 green streak. Niemi took a big win, with Eric Fosberg and Avery Rogers following in second aad third, respectively. Niemi (l- l)took the overallwin. while Fosbers (5-2) finished second, and roundinS out the top three wa5 Anstett (2-5)- Fourth weflt to Teddy Hahn (44), and Rogers (6-l) took f(th. Niemi and Njck Holum were the eaiy leaders in the first moto of the 250cc lntermediate class. Holum maintained the Iead position for a momena, but it was only a maater of time before Niemi shot by for the lead. Niemi never looked back and took the moto win over Holum in second and Fosberg in third. The second moto was a similar story except Holum was never in the lead. k was all Niemi- With quick corner speed and unique lines through the sloppy conditions, Niemi took anorher win, makin8 it a perfect day for this up-and-coming rider Second wena to R ers, and Fosberg took another third.
