By lap eight, Millsaps had cut Hansen's lead to two seconds, but it was now obvi- ous that Hansen was slowinS, and, on laP 10, Millsaps went around the KTM rider. Gosselaar got past Hansen as well on the next lap, and the question was how far back would Hansen drop? Vvhen the twoJap board cafile out, Jesseman had Hansen in his sights and dropped him to fourth before the white flag came out. At the checkers, Millsaps took the win with over five seconds to sPare over Gosselaar, with Jesseman, Hansen and Hahn rounding out the top f|e. "l was hoping to be out front at the start, but unfortunately it didn't happen," Millsaps said. "l saw most of the last guys in the front, and I thought, 'dang it, I gotta pass 'em now'. I rode a liftle tight at the beginning and I was a little winded in the end, just from riding tight, but lam huPPy," Jesseman, who usually doesn't show much emotion, was excited a5 well. "Third in my first race back with a new team is great," Jesseman said. ''But I still feel I have a lot to imProve on." Goeselaar, who actually considered quitting after last season was almost at a loss for words.
