Briefly...
"l
saw Norman
go
by me, and
I thought he
was in
the four-stroke
division. until I saw the twin
exhaust
and knew he was on a CR250E"
Reese said.
American
Honda/Precision
Concepts/BRP's
Norman
battled with Soule a
little before settlinS
into
first for the rest of the race.
''Soule
and I had
Sood
baftle, and I
iust
pinned it
off
a drop-off and
pulled off the
pass,"
Norman said.
Meanwhile,
Soule was having some
trouble in
the
scoring
chute
when he essentially
ghost-rode his Team
Green/GPR/Mom
& Dad-backed
KX250 through the
scoring chute.
"The
first turn, the chute,
is really sandy
and
whooped
out," Soule
said.
"l
saw this kicker
and
thought
I
could
pin
it and
soak it up. lt didn't soak at all
and
just
booted me over.
lt was bad.
lt was scary, but
I don't
quit."
Soule
remounted and
headed out for the
fourth laP
only
to suffer
the same fate as
Woods
and
ran out of
gas
on
the,ifth and
final lap. Soule
pushed his bike
down the long straightaway
leading to the finish and
still
managed to
pull
off a
fourth-Place
finish behind
Norman,
Lanza and Rees,
The
$3000
SemiPro
Team Race
got
under way
later that
day, and the
Team Green-backed
pairing
of
Ryan Abbatoye and
Dave Ondas
got
out in front early
when
Abbatoye surprised everyone,
including
himself,
by nabbinS
the holeshot.
"lt
felt really
good
to
get
the holeshot, and
I held the
lead until the second
corner when
Hollard
got
by me,
and
then Dietrich
passed me when I fell
in a corner,"
Abbatoye said.
