The sezson's opnint event did double-duty as FasTrac's sixth-afl niversary celebration. Xtreme |4X & Cycle Supply of Enterprise, Alabama, was the day's sponsor- Ridels from a four-state area turned out lor the race. Designed and built by Mark Earnett and Glenn Bates, the FasTraa course rs lo(ated in the southeistern corner of GeorSia, iust eitht mibs from the famous Millsaps Training Facility. MTF students are often seen at FasTrac's events, testint therr newfound skills rn live racing situations. Currenr fiTF student Landon Currier gassed his FHF/Entine lcdFox-backed Yamaha to the wins in both the 85cc (l?- l5) and Supermini divisions. Currier, who hails all the way from WashinSton State, was briefly challenged by Kiernana Mala.ney in the opening 12-15 moto, but Currier led by a wide marsin at the flaE in all four motos. During the first lap of the opening Schoolboy moto, local ace Brad Johnson suffered a hard spill and was sidelined for the day. Meanwhih, Tyler Bengslon ser sail aboard his Honda and won both motos. ahead of Geoff Houser's Kawrsaki. Bengston returned in the fierce l25c< B contest and garnered the top hono6 via his 2- | s(ore. Cole Cherpaft led the openinS moto Irom start to linish but was slowed in moto two by a flat re6r tire on his Yamaha. Cherpak's eventual l-5 tally put him on the botom of a three-way tie for second. F ne5 Der,ilbbs came out on top of the tie, earninS the silver via his 4-2 tally. Jereny Thornas' 3-3 score netted the brorEe. BSY/Factor/ Connection/O'Neal-backed Cherpak had better luc* in the Youth (16-29) dass, lvinnint both rnotos. Geoff Houser suffered a minor spill while leading the finat lap of the opening l25cc C moto, and he wa3 unable to restart his bike bef6e the moto ended. Hous$ retumed Ior a corwillcint win an th€ final moto. Hous$'s DNF in the first moto left th€ top overall positions up for debarc.
