ocBs _sFoRTti -- @ I I -D Johnson's (4) best finish wos setond on Fridoy nighr. "lt makes all the difference in the world in Arenacross when you're able to pull a good start," said Sellards. "l knew coming into Hampton that it was crucial that I got great starts. I did and the results were excellent." Simply put, Sellards ran away from the competition at the well-attended East Coast throw down. Chad had nothing for him, especially on Friday when the Wisconsin-native hesitated on the staft and ended up tangling with Lites specialist Shawn Clark, on the Unbound/VRM.com Kawasaki. Johnson did, however, rally back from the back of the pack to podium, but he was nowhere near Sellards. KJ was on it as well. Known as "Lap Time" as of late, K] has recorded six-consecutive fastest Arenacross- class main-event lap times. This has led to some excit- ing racing for the final podium spots, as the Team Faith/yamaha rider tends to make one or two mistakes a ftrce and has to charge through rush-hour traffic like he's late for work. This didn't sit well with Thor/Honda/TUF Racing's Jeff Nonhrop, who tangled with KJ twice on Friday night - the second time knock- ing Northrop from a podium spot. Also putting on a good come-from-behind show on Friday was Team Rockstar6uzuki's Greg Schnell, who wove his way through the pack from dead last to fifth- Saturday was pretty much the same story as Sellards smoked everybody to the flrst turn, while Chad was only able to muster a midpack start. With Sellards hav- ing checked out early, Chad batled hard late in the race with Suzuki rider Zach Ames for founh place overall - saving another point rather than have the lead trimmed to six points heading into Memphis. The AMA Arenacross Lites class was all Jim Chester, as Suzuki's ageless North Carolinian motocross wonder swept the Lites class for the first time this year. Honda- mounted Roy Horton continues to race well also, going 2-2 in the Lites class on the weekend.
