Too Short?
The 2006 Supercross
racinS is
great -
thanks
to RC,
James,
and
Chad
-
but
not the 15-
minute main events.
Please switch Supercross
mains to 20 minutes
plus
two laps.
The flat-track layouts of
the last two
events
result in 44- to
4s-second lap dmes
and ls-minute main events.
With this change,
you please the top riders and the
fans.
Top riders
get
a lonSer chance
to recover
from
a
bad
start or fall, and
fans
get
more
racinS.

This thought
is certain to
get
laughs out of
the motocross
purists,
but I have
an idea that
I think is not too
far-fetched. Since
the Al'4A
no longer runs flat
track races on
the West
Coast, I came
up with the
idea of combininS
TT racinS with Supercross.
I say remove
the
berms
-
make all the turns
flat, thus
forcing
the racers to back into the
turns and
get
sidewa),s
coming out. Keep the
whoops and
the
iumps
sort of a like a vi5it to
the
past
when Steve
Wise rode the Houston
TT
It would
be really cool to
watch
carmichael, Stewart,
Reed. et al. deal
with
this. And
you
can
bet it wouldn't take long
for these
guys
to totally
8et
with the
pro-
gram.
Flat
tract devotees like myself would
get a chance
to see the cornering stlle
we
appreciate,
while the Supercross set would
not be deprived
of the specQcular
,umping
they are accustomed
to. I would even
go
5o
lar as to suggest that
the sliding would appeal
to them.
Berms are
certainly the
fast way around,
but they are boring
to watch
as far as I am con-
cerned. A
couple of
guys geftiig
sideways
together
is
a
blast to see
-
just
a thought.

Too Smooth?
Someone needs to tell the
idiots and idiot
lites at the AMA, and the track
builders,
that this is Supercross
- not Saturday
motocross
on the REM track at Glen
Helen.
It's
the track that
puts
the
"Super"
in
Supercross.

Too Smooth
ll?
I enioyed
the
racin8 at the Phoenix
Supercross,
but somehow
it reminded me
of the old-time
scrambles
with
,umps
thrown in, Every time
a berm
started to
form they immediately
scraped
it flat again.
This was a
Sood
experiment,
but
let's
have Supercross.

Too Easy?
I
just
saw the
Anaheim ll Supercross on
TV
\,Vhat a race!
But, as always,
it seems that
"Bubba"
has an excuse
that the track
was
too easy!
How many times does
he have to
crash
or almost
crash in one race.
The
yel-
low
flag was out when
l'like Brown crashed
-
on TV
yorj
could see the
yellow
flag beinS
waved as they
were
going
down
that
straight. Stewart had
plenty
of time to
choose
another line. Plain and simple,
he
messed up.
By the way, how did Ricky
get
by with basically
no
place
to
go?
I hope for
Bubba's sake they
don't rnake
the
track any harder. At
least two near crash-
es and
one fall on a
"slippery
and easy" track.
I want
to see these
guys race on two wheels,
because
when BLrbba
was up it was
8reat.

The G.O.A.T.
To those who think
beating the G.O,A.T
in his
prime will somehow
