thou8h he could never let
down
his
guard
completely because Laninovich
was always lurking behind in fourth. For
a while early on. Ramsey had Short in his
siShts but began
losing
touch of
him
as
the
race wore
on.
"l
knew they were
going
to be fast all
year,
and Grant had some
really
fast
lap
times in the first couple of
rounds,"
Ramsey said.
"This
is the first time
[Langston]
has
Eot
out
in
the front earlx
and he
put
down some
fast
laps. I tried
as hard
as
I could - they
got
away from
me
pretty quick.
I
got
into
third
place
as
quick
as I could, but Grant was inching
away, and me and Shorty were kind of
inching back and
forth.
"
As for rhe race for the championship,
Ramsey is happy to
be
back in con-
tention.
"lt
is definitely
good
for me
fhaving]
three different
winners, since I had the
l2th-place finish in the first one,"
Ramsey said.
''But,
I
would
like
to
see
one winner
for
the
rest
of them - I
want
to
put
my Red
Bull KTM out
front, There
is a lot of competition, so
you got
to be
smart and not
go
for
the
glory
every time
-
you got
to
pick your
moments. Right
now
the
points
are close enough that we
got
to think about those things. l'm
just
going
to
go
to each track, try to dissect
the track, and
go
as fast as I can on the
track, trl and
get
a
good
start and stay
out of the mess."
Any
hopes
Laninovich had of winning
the race were
pretty
much wiped out
early
after
Setting
off
to a sixth-place
start. The SoBe/Samsung Honda rider,
however,
got
inro fourth
place
after
just
four laps, but that would
be
it. He
did make up some
ground
on third-
place
Ramsey, but a near
get-off
cooled
his
attack.
"l
felt
good,
but I didn't
get
such a
good
start," Laninovich said.
"l
kind of
stuck
to
the inside and worked
my way
into fourth, and I was catching Nathan a
little
bit, but
I
made a really big mistake
before the
whoops
and almost crashed,
