Linkless Problems?
While attending the Anaheim I
Supercross,
it
became
painfully
obvious that once again
KTI'4's suspension
does
not handle the
rough,
demanding stresses
of
Supercross.
I
am an avid motocross and Supercross
enthusiast and attend many races as well as
race myself. Oyer the last six
years
I have
watched
many fiM riders
get
bucked,
pitched,
and in some cases hurt attempting
to compete with inferior suspension.
As a
proud
fiM
525
EXC owner, I am
not
trying to bash
the
company
in any way,
though I must also admit my motocross
bike is a Honda CRF450. I love the way
the
525 works in the desert and

Kudos
Good
going,
lYr. Osterman! I was
glad
to
see
that for
once
someone who writes
to
Cycle News actually knows what they are
talking about. That is because
you
are a true
professional yourself.
Thanks for a
great
let-
ter and
giving
I.4r. Payton the support he
justly
deserves.
I usually refer to this column each week
because I
get
a kick out
of how stupid and
childish some of us are.
Thanks to allyou crybabies
out there for
keeping me entenained.

This

Sunday
[January

the Amp'd Mobile/Toyota
Supercross
from Anaheim
was to be broadcast at I l:30
Central
time on CBS -
absolutely
a feather in the
cap of the marketing types
who
negotiated the contract
to
get
CBS
involved.
The cable
provider,
Time-
Warner - Houston, elected
instead to air two 30-minute
paid programs

When I
called them, the),,, of course,
couldn't
tell me much,
pre-
ferring to lay it off on the
commercial/advenising
peo-
ple.
When
questioned
about
future
programming,
it
appears that, at least for the
next two events, they
have
no
plans
to televise
them.
ln the fourth-largest city
in
the U.S.,
it seems that
Amp'd and
Toyota should
take a hard look at the con-
tract. To exclude a
market
this size would seem to be a
violation of their
perform-
ance
aSreement.

ln a recent
"Voices"
letter,
l'lichael Autrey stated
that
even if
James
Stewart wins every
round this
year, he still won't be the GOAT
You are very astute, Michael.
James
won't be the GOAT He
will
be
the rider
who beats the GOAT
in his
prime.
