Not only did he come from behind to beat defend- ing champ Ricky Carmichael and former champ Chad Reed. but he showed something that he really hasn't shown much of throughout his young, though lengthy, racing career - patience. Stewan has never been one to sit back and wait in those rare instances when he isn't leading a race. Many times in the past, Stewart has ended up on his head after making unnecessary and desperate pass aftemPts to get to the front, even if he had plenty of time on his side. But at Anaheim l, Stewart proved to the sellout crowd of 45,050 that those days are behind him, as the Floridian rode a smart, patient and, yes, mature race to flnish ahead of Reed and Carmichael and take the early points lead in the Af'1A Supercross Series while further extending his lead in the three-race-old Amp'd Mobile World Supercross GP Series.
