Dunham's first overall win of the day came in one of the lartert class€s, the Throuth ,lO Arnateur class. Mai.o rider Dan Cunnintham haa been one of the f.ont-nrnners in th€ class thus far this season. but Dunham cornbined his prowess at tening fast starts with his mud-ridinS skill and swept both motos. Cunnintham's consistent 3-2 placing3 netted him second oveGll, followed by Paul Richards (4-4), Rob Sallard (6-3) and lason Sande (5{). Suzuka rider Dy'an olson trailed Dunham in moto one to place second, althouth his llth-place finish in moto two dropped him to sixth ov€rall. Ballard had things his way in another latSe dass - $e 250cc E\oluiion Amateur class - and, after splitting rnoto wins with fellow Honda ride. Mike Rell. he scorEd dl€ ove.all win. Rall and lererny Fot& who rode a 1979 Ka\,vasaki KX, completed the top three. Erik Sl']lli\,an snared dle win in the 250.c lnterrn€diat6 Poniicn, but it was forrner National number 19, ,im Ander$n, who dominated the 250cc Expen class aboard his I 98 I Y.rnaha Y2250. Anderson had touth competition from Gllovr YZ pilot Leon CapF in the alass, but he nonetheless won via l-l placings to lead Cappr (2-2), Chris \4hlther (3-3) and Husqverna rider Lyndel Raphael (a fNe-class contestent on th6 day), who placed founh. Anderson was equally impressive in the Over ,10 Evolution Exp€rt chss, posting a double-moto s,weep to atain finish ah€d of Cappr (l-2), Yamaha-mounted Slak€ Landon (2-3) and Raphael, completint his double-class domination. Cz-mounted Oretonian Chris Clark won two Expert classes durint the vintage portion of the proSram, topping the Open and Over 30 classes. Clark beat Mark Sullivan to the flnish in both motos to top $e Op€n .lass, end then won both motos in dle Over 30 class, ahead of Brctt Giboney and R{ssell Skiver. ,oe Carey also dropped Sullivan to runne.-up statlis in dle Over '{0 Expert class; casey won both motos. one of the more popular classes this season has been the l00cc vintage class. Suzuki rider Shaun Price and Honda rider lohn Bodkn went head to head in both mo@s, but h was Price who came out ahead of Bodkin in the tie-breaking aecond moto to win overall. Hodaka riders Hilo Linville, Bryan Adams and Axel Anderson rounded out the top five overall.
