Buriram Circuit Turned Into Refugee Camp T he Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand, usually the venue that hosts the country's MotoGP race, has been converted into an emergency ac- commodation site as thousands flee mounting violence along the Thai-Cambodian border. According to local authori - ties, around 15,000 people from border-adjacent villages have been relocated to the circuit since Sunday, November 7, after heavy fighting erupted between Thai and Cambodian forces, prompting mass evacuations. The displaced are now shel - tering inside grandstands and paddock areas, many awaiting further instructions or safe pas - sage home. The circuit's selection as a ref- uge reflects its size and ability to accommodate large numbers, qualities designed for spectators and teams but now repurposed for humanitarian shelter. CN WIND IN THE P42 The Chang International Circuit in Thailand is now being used as a refugee camp and could affect the opening round of the 2026 MotoGP World Championship, scheduled for March 1 at the venue. Rossomondo out of Dorna Sports A merican Dan Rossomondo has resigned from his role at Dorna Sports, the company that manages the commercial rights to MotoGP. The move marks a significant shift within the organization as Rossomondo departs amid growing specula - tion about renewed leadership direction ahead of the upcoming season. During his tenure, Rossomon - do oversaw global marketing, media, and commercial opera- tions, helping to shape MotoGP's international expansion before it was purchased by Liberty Media. "I would like to thank Carmelo [Ezpeleta] and the team for all their support over the last three years," Rossomondo said. "I loved learning about this amaz - ing sport and have become a genuine fan. Going forward, I will be cheering for its continued success from the U.S. as I return home to spend more time with my family." CN Dan Rossomondo leaves Dorna Sports after a three-year tenure.
