BARSTOW-TO-VEGAS
RETURNS
Unfortunately, not for long. After
a nine-year battle with land
groups, the Barstow-to-Vegas
desert race roared back to life in
1983, only to be shut down again
a few years later and never to
return. Desert racing legend
Husqvarna's Dan Smith (pictured)
took the win that year, which, at
the time, was also a victory for
motorcycle enthusiasts.
