VOLUME 62 ISSUE 45 NOVEMBER 11, 2025 P59 2026 DUCATI HYPERMOTARD V2, HYPERMOTARD V2 SP L ast week, many new models were launched alongside the EICMA Milan Motorcycle Show in Italy. Ducati introduced the lat- est evolution of its Hypermotard family with the Hypermotard V2 and higher-spec Hypermotard V2 SP. Both use Ducati's 890cc V-twin seen in the Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2, producing a claimed 120 horsepower at 10,750 rpm and 69 lb-ft of torque at 8250 rpm. Variable intake valve timing broadens midrange torque, with 70% available from 3000 rpm. A six-speed transmission pairs with Ducati Quick Shift for clutchless up- and downshifts, and shorter gearing improves ac- celeration. A new aluminum monocoque frame replaces the previous steel trellis, using the engine as a stressed member. The steel sub- frame remains, and the aluminum swingarm echoes the Panigale V4's design. Ducati claims the new platform cuts 29 pounds com- pared to the Hypermotard 950. Suspension differs between models: the V2 runs fully adjust- able Kayaba units, while the SP upgrades to an Öhlins NIX 30 fork and STX 46 shock, along with forged wheels for reduced unsprung mass. Both use 17-inch wheels and Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires, with track-ready slick fitment possible. Braking comes from Brembo M4.32 calipers on the V2 and M50s on the SP. A six-axis IMU supports corner- ing ABS, traction and wheelie control, engine braking adjust- ment, and multiple ride modes. The SP adds launch control and a pit limiter. A 5-inch TFT handles settings. Seat height is 34.6 inches. The V2 comes in Ducati Red; the SP gets a special anni- versary livery. Availability begins mid-2026. We have pretty much accepted there will be no sensible riding when we get our hands on the hooligan- looking Hypermotard V2 SP.
