Busto Wins X-Trial in France J aime Busto (GasGas) secured his first victory of the 2026 FIM X-Trial season (round three) in Saint-Denis, Reunion Island (France), November 8, in a race that had the same podium finish - ers as the previous two rounds but in a different order. Toni Bou (Repsol Honda Trial Team) fin - ished second, five points behind the winner, and Gabriel Marcelli (Repsol Honda Trial Team) was third, four points behind Bou. The fourth finalist was Hugo Dufrese (Beta), who was mak - ing his season debut in Reunion Island and topped Q2. Once in the final, the Frenchman quickly fell out of the running for the po- dium, accumulating 30 penalty points. On the other hand, three fives scored between the second and fourth sections prevented Mar- celli from competing for the top two positions, while Busto, who had been the best in Q1, and Bou were performing at a high level, having only scored two points in the first four sections. The fifth section was decisive, as Bou scored a five and Busto scored zero, opening the door for him to win. In the final section, Bou risked everything trying to tie the standings, but another five finally ended his chances. "I'm very happy with this win and what it means, especially considering I started with a bad crash in Andorra la Vella [round one], wasn't feeling quite right in Madrid [round two], and finally, today I was able to win," Busto said. "I rode very consistently all night and felt very comfortable because the atmosphere was exceptional." "It wasn't my best day; from the start I didn't feel completely comfortable because of my shoulder injury," said Bou. "The decisive mistake that cost me the victory was in zone five of the final. I made a mistake when choosing my line, and then on the last section, I rushed things, trying to go fast." Beta's Hugo Dufrese was fourth in the four-rider final. In the provisional World Cham - pionship standings, Bou has 55 points, followed by Busto, who has moved into second place with 44, and Marcelli is third with 42. CN FINAL 1. Jaime Busto (GG) 7 2.
