Finishing on the podium
Friday night was Kawasaki-
mounted Cooper Abbott. "I was
upset at myself for that seventh
last week, and I knew I was a lot
better than that," Abbott said.
"It's not a win yet, but it's a step
in the right direction, and we'll
keep building off this."
Abbott struggled a bit on
Saturday, going 6-9-7 for sixth
overall.
After finishing fifth on Friday
night, Colton Haaker finished out
the weekend on the podium on
Saturday night, which included a
second-place finish in race three.
"It feels good to be up here,"
Haaker said from the podium.
"And it feels good to ride like
myself again."
Yamaha rider and former
EnduroCross champ Cody Webb
cracked the top five three times
over the weekend, en route to
6-5 overalls.
In the championship, Hart
leads with 72 points, followed by
Walker with 69, LeBlond with 56,
Haaker with 55 and Abbott with
51. Webb is sixth with 49 points.
The top Amateur in the
championship is Marc Fernan
-
dez of Spain, who leads Idaho's
Anthony Johnson, 63-60. Fer-
nandez topped Friday's race but
took second Saturday night after
a thrilling battle with Johnson,
who won by 3.3 seconds over
the Spaniard.
