And Bagnaia showed few signs of his mind being else - where as he got the jump to the first turn with Acosta and Alex behind. Alex's early aggression at turn four paid off massively. Fabulous moves on Acosta (lap one) and Bagnaia (lap two) showed Saturday's nerves were a thing of the past. Instead, it was Bagnaia who looked wooden, in the parc ferme of the Sprint. He was taken to the hospital in Kuala Lumpur and will need to undergo multiple surger- ies. He is in good hands, and we kindly ask you to respect his pri- vacy. We will not be sharing fur- ther details at this time. Noah is a true fighter, and the entire CIP Green Power team is right behind him. We will keep you updated as soon as possible." On Monday, the team offered another update on the Swiss rider: "Surgery went well, and Dettwiler is in stable but still critical condition." ESPARGARO-MARINI CLASH EXPLAINED Luca Marini had his first MotoGP crash of the year in the Sprint when he came into contact with Pol Espargaro at turn 14. The Italian was attempting to over- take the KTM substitute when they came together. "He is too clean," Espargaro said. "He went inside, like trying not to make me lose too much time, just trying to be super clean inside, but the problem is he was too clean, and I didn't know he was there.
