was the winner... We had an in-depth,

leadership John Harley, William Davidson and John Davidson...
Our test bike of the week was the Harley-Davidson MX-250, with
telescopic forks front and rear... Steve Bast won the Speedway
State Championship in Bakersfield, California.
The 60th ISDE from Poland was featured on
the cover of Cycle News 40 years ago. Sweden
took the win with the U.S. placing fourth.
Husqvarna four-stroke-mounted Larry Roeseler
was the top-placing American rider. French
legend Gilles Lalay was the overall individual winner... We covered
the CMC Trans-Cal Supercross that was held at the Madera
County Fairgrounds. George Holland topped the 125cc and
250cc classes, and Greg Zitterkopf won the 500cc class... Alan
Christian won the National Speedway Championship at Costa
Mesa.
