I
t was hard not to feel a little
like the changing of the guard
is approaching in MotoGP af
-
ter the 2025 Indonesian round.
The new generation of Fermin
Aldeguer (Gresini Ducati), Pedro
Acosta (Red Bull KTM), Luca
Marini (HRC Castrol) and Raul
Fernandez (Trackhouse Aprilia)
have been knocking on the door
for some time. And so it was in
the searing coastal Indonesian
heat that the new generation
firmly arrived on the world stage,
with Aldeguer becoming the
first rookie since Jorge Martin in
2021 to take a win, thus making
him the second youngest win
-
ner in the 75-year history of the
premier class behind his mentor
Marc Marquez (Lenovo Ducati).
He's been knocking on
the door all year, but
at Mandalika, Fermin
Aldeguer blew it
completely off its hinges
with a dominant debut
win on Sunday.
The MotoGP
world has a
new winner as
Fermin Aldeguer
roared away to a
maiden victory,
while it was
pain and sorrow
for the factory
Ducati team.
