pace from the front-runners and
finished slightly out of touch
with the podium contenders in
race one, back in fifth, his best
result of the day.
Moto three saw Renaux in a
race-long battle with Sweden's
Isak Gifting. The two went back
and forth multiple times, with
Renaux stealing the spot away
six. I think we did the job, and it
could be a little better. To be just
behind the USA, we are a little
bit disappointed, but Australians
were just too good."
Maxime Renaux enlisted as
the team's Open class rider
and finished inside the top 10
against the world's best. The
Yamaha rider was a click off the
consistency to help propel his
team to the podium with a pair
of fifth-place results. He battled
up front with Tomac and Gajser
for nearly the entire first moto
but crashed hard after washing
the front end in the split lane.
He later chipped away at a top
five in the final stages of race
three, passing Jo Shimoda in
the closing laps. Febvre's name
is now synonymous with Team
France, and he'll have another
shot at the Chamberlain Trophy
on home soil in 2026.
"I threw it away in the first
moto," Febvre said. "I was in a
good spot and just threw it away.
I misjudged a turn, and it was a
little wet. I was a little ashamed.
It [Motocross of Nations] is the
only chance in the year that we
get to compare to the U.S. guys
and to see the results, so it's nice
to see both sides in the top five/
