made his move and got around Shelly to grab the lead and even- tually take the win. Shelly was second, and Canaguier rounded out the podium. Canaguier got the jump on the field in the sec- ond motos and set off to try to go for the win. Carroll kept him close by and made a run several times at the Kawasaki rider. With the track getting rougher by the lap, mistakes and close calls forced the gap to close up and then back off again. Canaguier would go on to take the moto win, followed by Carroll and Shelly. After a couple of charges, Carroll couldn't make the pass and had to settle for second in the moto behind Ca - naguier, with Shelly rounding out the top three. Carroll's 1-2 moto scores gave him the overall win, followed by Canaguier (3-1) and Shelly (2-3). In the 250 A class, Ricci Ran - danella got a jump on the field with Canaguier, Justin Rodbell, Grant Getz and Cory Carsten in tow. After getting a poor start, Carroll was working through the pack to try to catch the leaders. Close action at the front saw sev - eral riders take a shot at the lead. Just past halfway, it was still Ran- danella out front, with Canaguier in second and Carroll up to third. Carroll's charge would bring him to the back wheel of Canaguier and eventually lead to him taking the moto win. Canaguier was sec - ond, and Jonathan Getz rounded out the top three. The unseasonably warm temperatures were taking a toll on the riders. The busy Race of Champions schedule didn't allow for much time between motos for riders competing in both classes. As a result, several rid - ers didn't line up for the second- moto gate drop. Two of the top five from moto one didn't take the gate drop. That would allow for mixed-up overall. Canaguier, on a Kawasaki 250 borrowed from his Hunter Racing team - mate Trinnity Batchelor, would get out to an early lead and take the win. He was followed across the line in the second moto by Justin Rodbell in second and Cory Carsten in third. With 2-1 moto scores, Canaguier won the overall. Justin Rodbell's 4-2 scores gave him second, and a consistent 6-4 afternoon earned Brayden Ehlermann third overall. As the top finishing pro rider in the combined 250 and Open classes, Canaguier took home an extra $1000 from the track on top of the regular purse. Between the Pro motos, the crowd was treated to a series of special intermission races, which have long been a part of the Race of Champions week - end. In 2025, the prestigious Ironman Classic, sponsored by Motorcycle Mall of Monmouth, went to Trinnity Batchelor. Other highlights included repeat winner Forrest McPherson in the 65cc Kessler Cup, sponsored by Mont - gomeryville Cycle Center, Jayson LaBouef in the 85cc Top Gun Mini Cycle Shootout, sponsored by Crossroad Powersports, Chase Gleason in the Fast 50s and Hudson Vagele in the 125cc All-Stars moto. With another successful year in the books, anticipation is already building for the milestone 50th annual Race of Champions in 2026, a celebration that promises to be bigger and better than ever.
