to see Hunter not get the win," Jett said. "Halfway through, I honestly had some doubts that I could even catch those guys [Hunter and Eli]. They were rid- ing really, really well. But I had to dig deep and just try to send it. It was either sending it or crash- ing at that point. So, I tried, and I was able to catch up to Eli. I had a few good laps and was able to make a quick pass when I had the chance." Hunter dominated the final race of the night, but it was not enough for the overall win. He finished the night second overall in both the final round and in the championship. The Honda HRC Progressive rider used his momentum from winning one 450SMX Once again, Jett Lawrence was the heavy favorite for this year's SuperMotocross crown. "It was tough," he said. "In the first moto, I came together with some- one on the first lap and ended up a half a lap behind and a lap down. In the second moto, I didn't have a great gate pick. I did everything I could to get a great start but pushed in and ended up going straight off the track and was riding around at the back. It doesn't help having to go through the LCQs for these races. It is what it is." MYOWNRACE (Left) Jett Lawrence came through traffic in both motos to earn the overall win and a third consecutive SMX title. (Below) Hunter Lawrence dominated the final 450SMX race of the night and finished second in the series points.
