is still third, even after crashing
out in Misano. He's on 237
points, but Bezzecchi is closing
in fast, and the money would
be on him to take third in the
standings after Motegi.
Moto2
This day couldn't have gone
any better for Celestino Vietti
(SpeedRS Boscoscuro).
Launching from second on the
grid, the home hero immediately
assumed control, passing
Dani Holgado (Aspar Kalex) to
Augusto Fernandez (Monster
Energy Yamaha) ensured the V4
YZR-M1 scored points in its first
race, albeit 61 seconds back
from the victor.
For the second weekend in
succession, Marc (512 points)
was unable to extend his lead
over Alex (330). But it doesn't
really matter. If he scores three
more points than Alex next
time out in Motegi, he'll be
champion for the seventh time
in MotoGP and ninth in Grand
Prix racing. Incredibly, Bagnaia
as best we could and even set
the fastest lap of the race on
the final lap. I'm happy because
after yesterday's mistake, we
had to make amends."
Alex was seven seconds in
arrears. Morbidelli benefited
from Acosta's misfortune to
take fourth, as he held off Di
Giannantonio's late charge.
Aldeguer was a solid sixth, with
Marini frustrated in seventh,
even if he was the top Honda
and 12 seconds faster than last
year's race.
