by resisting a fearsome Marco
Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing)
challenge on the Italian's
patch to take one of his most
impressive wins of the year.
Just as brother, Alex, (Gresini
Ducati) completed a redemption
arc the previous week in Barce

lona, it was Marc's turn in Italy.
Here, he crashed out of a Sprint
encounter he was likely to win,
only for that disappointment to
hone his focus on Sunday. The
wild celebrations that greeted
his crash by a minority of Ital
-
ian fans no doubt added to his
motivation.
Bezzecchi, he said, had run
him hard. But in keeping with
the season so far, Marc found
an answer, his two late fast
-
est laps a testament to how he
would not accept second.
"In those last laps, neither
of us were thinking about the
championship," he said after. A
first match point awaits him in
Japan as a result.
