The Monster En - ergy Star Racing Yamaha rider didn't podium in either moto, but his consistency won out at the end of the night. A sixth in race one didn't seem too exciting, but he improved on that to take fourth at the final checkered flag of the night. Thrasher tied on points with Ty Masterpool but gained the advantage thanks to his better finish in race two. This Seth Hammaker earned sec - ond overall with two third-place finishes. After leading most of the race one week ago and later receiving a points penalty, Hammaker again showed speed in St. Louis and certainly had a point to prove. He ran with the front pack in both motos and used consistency to his advan - tage over the night. A pair of thirds put him second overall but also bumped him to third in the championship standings. "I ended up second overall, another consistent day," Ham - maker said. "Going into the mains, I knew starts would be key for track position. They weren't quite where I wanted pace to finish in the runner-up spot both times. Shimoda has definitely been the second-best guy multiple times this year, but his consistency paid off at the second Playoff round.
