n Barcelona, we saw the two sides
of the racing coin. On Saturday,
Alex Marquez (Gresini Ducati),
fresh from dominating Friday's ses-
sions and taking pole position, was
on course to take the Sprint race
win as he gradually pulled clear of
his brother, Marc (Lenovo Ducati).
Then, overconfident and with
thoughts of a gold medal hang
-
ing around his neck, he slid off the
Ducati at the treacherous turn 10
with four laps to go and gifted Marc
a 14th Sprint success of 2025.
Alex didn't make the same mis-
take again.
Come the race proper on Sun-
day, Alex stamped his authority on
his home event, pulling clear of an
early battle with Marc and taking his
second career MotoGP victory but,
crucially, the first time he's beaten

still walked away having beaten his brother,
Marc, straight up for the first time ever.
