Hart Wins Red Bull Outliers
R
ed Bull Outliers returned to
Canada on September 5-7 as
the country's most prestigious
hard enduro race, with their
local U.S. Hard Enduro Cham-
pion, Trystan Hart, winning
convincingly.
The race attracted 320 ath-
letes from Canada and the United
States. Earlier this year, Red Bull
Outliers became a U.S. Hard En-
duro Series exhibition race.
The format was adjusted
slightly from years past, as both
days were held at the Badlands
venue. Every athlete raced a
short-loop Prologue on Friday
morning, determining Saturday's
starting positions. The eight
classes were divided into three
categories and courses: Pro, Ex
-
pert and Amateur. The first main
race of the weekend was on Fri-
day afternoon, consisting of the
Amateur and Pro Women classes
racing on a similar five-mile
course to the Prologue. The top
three in the Amateur race were
Blaze Crowe, finishing with an im
-
pressive five laps, Christian Shaw
and Tanner Sessa. The top three
finishers of the Pro Women's
class were Corey Ireton, Magalie
Larouche and Oshi Hampson.
On Friday and Saturday after
-
noon, the AMA Motoclimb Super
Series hosted Open Bike Exhibi-
tions on the "Taddy" hill near the
Red Bull Oasis.
On Sunday morning, the three
Expert classes left in a similar
mass start, but with a 2.5-hour
time limit. The event team added
harder sections for the 115
racers. Jordyn Gosteli won the
Expert overall, with Phillip Kirk
and Kendall Smith finishing in
second and third, respectively.
The Pro main event started in
the afternoon, with 30 athletes
taking off all at once to compete
on the toughest Red Bull Outli
-
ers course of the weekend. Hart
