pionship points. Clearly fired up
from
the penalty, Deegan ended
the day with a dominant win,
even with another restart, and
led all but one lap to end the
day. A 13-second lead and 2-1
finishes gave him the overall win
along with back-to-back 250MX
Championships.
"I wanted to go out there
and make a statement, which
is what I did," Deegan said. "I
wanted to wrap up the title on
top of the box, so I was deter
-
mined to go out there and make
it happen. It feels awesome,

or better in the opening
moto to wrap up the title (his
worst finish of the year was a
14th during the first moto at
RedBud). After a red flag forced
a full restart for the first moto,
Deegan looked comfortable
straight away as he slotted into
second behind his Star Racing
Yamaha teammate, Cole Davies.
Deegan made light work of the
rookie and quickly set sail, lead

to the win. He, along

good start and felt comfortable

cool feeling to be up front and
running the pace, knowing I still
have what it takes. A top-five
