pouncing at turn five on lap 15.
Moreira hit back with the fastest
laps, but David Alonso (CFMO-
TO Inde Aspar Team)—charging
through
the pack—was now join-
ing the fight.
With five
laps to go, Alonso
surged into podium conten-
tion, overtaking Dixon and then
Moreira
on the penultimate lap.
On the last lap, he made a deci-
sive move on Gonzalez at turn
nine,
as Moreira slipped past the
Spaniard in the scramble. Despite
running wide late on, Alonso
Moreira struck early, taking
the lead on lap four and set-
ting consecutive fastest laps to
edge
clear. Gonzalez responded
by passing Dixon on lap six,
and the trio remained tightly
bunched as the Brazilian's title
rival shadowed his every move.
By midrace, Gonzalez looked
content to stalk Moreira before
while chaos erupted behind as
four riders, including Celestino
Vietti (Sync SpeedRS Team) and
Darryn Binder (Italjet Gresini
Moto2), crashed out. At the
front, Dixon, Diogo Moreira (Ital-
trans Racing Team), and Manuel
Gonzalez (Liqui Moly
Dynavolt
Intact GP) quickly pulled clear,
with Aron Canet (Fantic Racing
Lino Sonego) chasing in fourth.
Izan Guevara (bLU cRU Pramac
Yamaha Moto2) was handed
a double long-lap penalty for a
jump start.
