ish and was in a good position
for an overall result. After the
restart in moto two, he quickly
moved into third and stayed
there for the remaining laps. A
podium finish in the final moto
earned him third place overall.
"I've been trying my best every
weekend, but I've hit the ground
a lot and started in the back,"
said Kitchen. "We found some-
thing on the bike, and it helped
with
the starts. Today felt like a
win, because it's been a tough
few weeks."
Garrett Marchbanks finished
fourth overall and secured third
in the championship standings.
"I ended up with a career-best
third overall in the points, which
and I'm looking forward to the
Playoffs."
Jo Shimoda came into Budds
Creek fresh off a 1-1 weekend
and was the only other rider on
the gate with a mathematical
shot at the championship. With
some extra motivation, he used
his newly found first-lap speed to
run up front with Deegan in both
motos but was also later penal-
ized for jumping during red-cross
flag conditions. He was relegat-
ed to third, putting the title out
of
reach. Shimoda held second
after the second moto restart but
couldn't match Deegan's pace
late in the race. A 3-2 put him
second on the day and second in
the series standings.

to
