victory. He also followed up with another impressive ride, winning the second moto by a double- digit margin. His 1-1 finish put him at the top of the podium and, more importantly, delayed the championship celebrations until the season finale. "Two good motos for me, and I got two more good starts," said Shimoda. "I just kept with the consistency. I've been riding much better. This was a good one today." Deegan remains in control of the 250MX Championship lead. He chose to play it safe on Saturday, clearly keeping the big picture in mind. By the time he moved into second place, Shimoda was already too far ahead. Deegan then started out - side the top five in moto two but gradually worked his way up, ul- timately finishing third. Without the urgent push we saw earlier in the season, he settled into a solid podium position, finish- ing with a 2-3 score for second overall on the day. He still leads the points by 43 and, barring any disasters, will secure the title next week at the season finale. "It's hard to push the edge when you have a championship to win," Deegan said. "I think that's how I got to where I am— being patient. I never felt very comfortable today, but credit to Jo, he was ripping. We'll go take care of business next weekend." Tom Vialle rounded out the podium for the second week in a row. The Red Bull KTM rider showed the same skills that won him two MX2 titles as his early moto intensity earned him two holeshots on the day. He quickly dropped back in race one but fired back with a strong end to the day, keeping Shimoda in his sights for most of the sec - ond moto. A runner-up spot in moto two highlighted the French rider's day and tied his season- best result in terms of overall points. ROUND 10 / AUGUST 18, 2025 UNADILLA MX | NEW BERLIN, NEW YORK MOTOCROSS I AMA PRO MOTOCROSS / SUPERMOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP P72 Jo Shimoda seemed to be in a class all his own after winning both 250MX motos.
