Robertson Announces Retirement M otocross rider Stilez Robert- son announces he's retiring from professional racing at just 23 years old. Robertson first gained rec- ognition as a successful young amateur racer, but the move to the professional level has been anything but smooth for the Cali- fornian from Bakersfield. Robertson earned the pres- tigious AMA Nicky Hayden Amateur Horizon Award in 2020 while racing for Husqvarna and was regarded as one of the sport's top prospects, but injuries kept him from reach- ing his full potential. Robertson joined the factory Triumph team as a 250cc rider for the start of the 2025 season after battling a lingering wrist injury. Two rounds into the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series, Robertson re- aggravated the injury and sat out the rest of the championship. He returned for the outdoor Pro Motocross Championship at Fox Raceway (Pala) but re-injured his wrist again in practice, never get- ting the chance to line up behind the gate. Last week, Robertson decided to call it a career in pro- fessional racing. "I've made a really hard deci- sion, but with my wrist injury still bothering me, I am stepping away from professional racing," Robertson said. "I've been at the practice track supporting the other riders on the team this summer, and I've been really enjoying it, as well as helping develop Triumph's amateur racing program. The team has been super-supportive and really understanding the whole time, and we've done everything pos - sible to get healthy and back to racing. Finally, I want to say thank you to all of the sponsors that have helped me through my career, as well as my family, friends and fans!" Ian Kimber, head of Global Racing Programs, Triumph Motorcycles, said, "The news of Stilez retiring is really sad. His talent on a motorcycle is undeniable, which is why we signed him to race for Triumph Factory Racing for 2025. Sadly, the injury that affected him in the past returned this year, and it's brought his promising career to an untimely end. On behalf of Triumph and Triumph Factory Racing, I'd like to wish Stilez the very best for the future." CN VOLUME 62 ISSUE 32 AUGUST 12, 2025 P29 At just 23 years old and only five years after turning pro, Stilez Robertson says he's retiring from professional racing.
